Begonia Irian Jaya

Begonia Irian Jaya is a bambusiform or "cane" species endemic to a particular region of Indonesia called Irian Jaya. It requires a slightly high ambient humidity (70-80%) and temperatures around 15-25 ºC. Its leaves are silvery with marked black veins. its young leaves being more coppery in color. It is a fairly resistant and easy to grow species.

This species requires medium environmental humidity, and can adapt to indoor cultivation with a plate of water below, however it grows better with high environmental humidity.
