Begonia masoniana

Masonian Begonia or Iron Cross Begonia is a rhizomatous botanical species native to Guangxi, China. Its leaves are hard to the touch and very rough, completely covered with red trichomes and can reach 25 centimeters in length. It has an intense green background with a characteristic black cross-shaped pattern that begins as red when the leaves are young. It is an ancient Begonia, widely cultivated, which is being displaced by similar species in the shape and color of its leaves, such as hybrids of Begonia variegata, however, the difference between the two is that B.masoniana does not present the border of the leaves edged in black.
