Eleocharis acicularis

Eleocharis acicularis, commonly known as dwarf hairgrass or spikerush, is distributed almost globally. It has been known as aquarium plant for a very long time and is also on sale as pond plant quite regularly. The hairlike, thin and rather upright leaves of the submersed form are of a medium green and grow to a length of about 10 to 20 cm. 

Eleocharis pusilla (often sold under the name "E. parvula") is quite similar to E. acicularis, but its submersed form stays smaller (grows only 5 cm high) and is of a light green colour under the same conditions, and its leaves are bent.
