Terrarium Clay Modelling Soil β Handcrafted in Brunei
Build, sculpt, and grow. Our clay modelling soil is a premium handcrafted substrate formulated specifically for jar terrariums, moss walls, and planted displays in Borneo's humid tropical climate.
Unlike generic potting mixes, this is a purpose-built sculpting clay that holds its shape on vertical glass surfaces, anchors plant roots firmly, and stays biologically active long after you've sealed your jar.
What's inside
A proprietary blend of natural clay minerals, fresh locally farmed worm castings, organic fibre, and purifying carbon β hand-mixed in small batches and tested in Brunei's tropical conditions. No synthetic additives. No artificial binders. No imported dried-out fillers.
The worm castings are what make it different. Locally produced and biologically active, they provide slow-release nutrition and a living microbial culture that supports plant health long term. You won't find this in any imported substrate on the market.
What you can make with it
- Moss wall backing pressed directly onto jar terrarium glass β moss roots establish within 2β3 weeks
- Sculpted mounds, ridges, and hills as base terrain
- Planted base layer for tropical plants, ferns, and jewel orchids
- Wabikusa-style planted balls for display jars and open terrariums
Coverage guide
| Size | Covers |
|---|---|
| 75 g | 1 back wall β 11 cm bell jar (thin coat) |
| 150 g | 1 back wall β 11 cm bell jar (standard 1 cm coat) |
| 500 g | 3β4 bell jar back walls |
| 1 kg | 6β8 bell jar back walls or full base layer for larger setups |
How to use
Add water gradually and mix until the soil reaches a thick, pliable consistency β like firm peanut butter. For moss walls, it should hold a clean thumbprint without cracking or sliding. Press firmly onto the glass surface and allow 10β15 minutes to set before planting moss or plants.
Made in Brunei Darussalam. Small batch. Handcrafted. Living biology in every bag.
